The more specific the brief, the better the first draft. We will ask for clarification if anything is unclear before we start writing.
Before writing a single word, we review your brief in full and research the relevant market, competitors, and audience. For cold email work, this means looking at how your target ICP is currently being messaged and what approaches are most overused. For homepage copy, this means reviewing what your most direct competitors are saying and finding the angle that makes your offer feel genuinely different. This step is not skippable, even on fast turnarounds. The writing reflects the research.
The first draft is written by a single writer who has read the brief and done the research. Not assembled from templates, not run through a generator -- written, drafted, and structured for your specific project. The draft is formatted for your delivery format: Google Doc, Word, HTML, or structured text for your CMS or design team. We do not ship a wall of text and call it a document.

You review and leave comments directly in the document. We address each comment and update the draft. Revisions are iterative: each round should close the gap between the draft and what you need. We do not close a project until you are satisfied with the output.
